Steve Mykietyn
Edinburgh, Scotland
Born in Connecticut, U.S.A. in 1978.
Studied painting at Massachusetts College of Art from 1996-2000
and at Edinburgh College of Art from 2004-2006 where he graduated with a M.F.A. in Drawing and Painting.
His work deals with mysticism, magic, belief and a fair dose of pop-culture.
He is a coordinator for Future Academy an interdisciplinary group of fine artists,
architects, programmers, neuroscientists and digital media artists.
Recent performances exhibitions include “Steve’s Tasty Burgers”, HOMEBASE, Tokyo,
“Baby Head vs. Red Beard” Zaim, Yokohama, “Gorilla Work Fair” Kandada, Tokyo,
“Greater Than Ever” Dick Institute, Kilmarnock, Scotland.
He currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.
During the Sumu residency he will produce new performances:
a night of Heavy Karaoke and an artist’s game called “Battle Bags”
as well as exhibiting videos of past performances.
