RAKETA MOUNTAIN - # TURKU TOUR 2008 - a mobile mountain & a bookrelease & some events project 27-30/11

A piece of nature an imitation – a mountain – a launch a meeting place. The mountain itself is a place to sit lie and lean onto – bring your coffee, sit down and listen to a story or pick up a book or just enjoy the wiew. The back / the visible inside contains raketas latest book, a fairytale/history book & some soundpieces with readings from the book. A small piece of imitated nature giving us a tool to interact with the site,giving us a different view of the site, owned of everybody and no one. Right of common moving through the city, a place for reflection and contemplation.

The mountain/bench will be moved around in the city, and placed in different locations. During the walk through the city a projection with words from the book will be placed on to the passing by surrandings – the story becomes part of the city becomes a book a reading Mountain playing a bench. 1-4 pm: A talk, a workshop, Thai soup kitchen!

3 - 6 pm: Film screening, readings, tea and cookies
4 pm & 5 pm: Alternative Guide Tours in the library: people living in
Åbo share and show paths, shelves, book, and favourite places at the library
