Janna Holmstedt, Sweden

Janna Holmstedt’s work is conceptual and often narrative in form. It involves image, text, sound, installations and interventions, as well as collaborative and web based projects. In her work, questions related to identity and the different strategies we acquire to define ourselves in relation to others and our environs are repeatedly explored. She often use voice-overs in combination with moving images – or constructed situations – to create multi-layered narratives. The
stories told, fictional and documentary, are related to what you see, but also the situation you are in while listening.

At SUMU she will produce a audio-visual installation, based on a phenomenon called
”Environmental Dependency Syndrome”.

Holmstedt lives in Stockholm.
