David Muth, London, UK/Austria

David Muth is a London based artist, musician and programmer. Having grown up in
Salzburg, Austria, he relocated to the UK to study at Middlesex University,
where he received an MA in Digital Arts.

His artistic practice combines conceptual and experimental approaches and is
informed by his background in architecture. His projects range from
installations and responsive environments, through video and experimental
documentary, to composition and performance of music.

During the SUMU Residency, David will be working on new video pieces -
continuing a thread of work that he started in summer 2008.

David Muth (UK/AUT) will be showing both new work and work in progress in the Sumu studio space

During Thursday evening April 1 ( 6 pm -8 pm), David will be showing both new work and work in progress in the Sumu studio space. On the one hand, the sketch board “Proposal for a Christmas Video Piece” maps ideas and concepts for a new video involving a Christmas tree and a combustion engine. On the other hand, the abstract video piece “1 C A a 01x” represents new work refined and finalised during the first two weeks of David’s residency. The video features music by Aleph-1 (Carsten Nicolai).
